Extruded Polystyrene insulation is an inherently green product. Insulation is designed to limit thermal fluctuations, reducing the need for artificial temperature controls, and in turn the need for electricity and fossil fuels. Foamular's manufacturer Owens Corning estimates that each year their range of insulation eliminates over 1 Billion tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions - equal to the annual emissions of 200 million passenger cars or two billion barrels of oil.

Owens Corning doesn't just rely on their insulation to save the environment. Owens Corning's constant effort to reduce their environmental impact earned them 56th place in Newsweek's 2010 top 500 greenest American companies, ahead of American Express, Apple and Ford Motors. Owens Corning has also set targets to reduce its GHG Emissions, Energy Consumption, Particle Matter, Nitrogen Oxides, Waste to Landfill and Water Consumption.

Austech External Building Products distributes Foamular Australia Wide, but we also provide a range of environmentally friendly building products, including Duratuff Insulated Vinyl Wall Cladding, lightweight CraftStone Cladding, with 20% recycled content, Edmonds Ventilation Systems, Duraflo Gable Vents and Expol Underfloor Insulation.

Foamular Extruded Polystyrene Insulation board is certified to contain a minimum of 20% recycled content, so it needs less raw materials to manufactuer. Foamular also can be re-used many times, read the DWF recycled insulation press release for more information.

In response to growing concerns for the environments, Austech has expanded its range of Extruded Polystyrene products to include Polyboard Enviro 300, an Extruded Polystyrene board with Zero Ozone Depletion Potential and minimal Global Warming Potential. Polyboard Enviro 300 is designed for use on environmentally conscious projects and is a Greenstar compatible product.
