Extruded Polystyrene is the Green Insulation System.
By now, everyone knows the importance of insulation. Insulation provides protection from temperature variations, saves money on heating/cooling bills and can add value to homes. What people often miss is that some insulation is greener than others. Foamular Extruded Polystyrene is a versatile, rigid insulation with high R-values and a life span that far outstrip those of its competitors.
The versatility of Foamular’s rigid insulation board means it can be used almost anywhere. It can be used as insulation for basements, garage insulation, roof insulation membranes and under slab insulation. The applications are unlimited.
Foamular is produced using an environmentally friendly HCFC blowing agent in complete accordance with United Nation Protocols regarding CFCs. By reducing CFCs Foamular is helping to preserve the Ozone Layer and protect the environment.
This high R-value means that over the life of Foamular, it gives better thermal protection, reducing heating and cooling bills for its entire life. Foamular is guaranteed to maintain at least 90% of its R-value for its useful life.
Foamular has incredibly high R-values in comparison to other materials.
| Foamular XPS 250 /50mm | = R1.78 |
| Expanded Polystyrene 50mm, m grade | = R1.20 |
| Brickwork, 110mm | = R0.18 |
| Weather Boards, 12 mm avg, pine | = R0.08 |
| Concrete Slab, 2400kg/m3, 100mm | = R0.069 |
| Plaster Board, 10mm | = R0.059 |
| Fibre Cement Sheet, 6mm | = R0.019 |
The lightweight design of Foamular means it saves on transport costs. With a lighter load, transportation vehicles require less fuel and contribute less to greenhouse gasses.

Europe and the US have embraced green roof gardens, but Australia in many respects has fallen behind on the trend. Green roof gardens essentially replace ugly, inefficient flat concrete roofs with roof gardens that improve aesthetics, air quality, storm water management and the environment.
